The Essence Hunters

In the heart of Beltheron City a class of students learns how to mix potions and medicines using the essences – elements taken from the fur and feathers of creatures who roam beyond the city walls.

When Darion, a young essence hunter, meets a girl and boy from the palaces of the wealthy Variegatt he is soon plunged into a perilous chase. Fleeing through the streets, over the rooftops and into the underground caverns of Beltheron he meets murderous enemies, a secret group of spies and a strange breed of flying lizards, the mighty draccen.

As the hunter becomes the hunted, Darion realises that his mysterious new friend Alianna might not be all she seems. And in the darkest corners of the city there are others with a far more dangerous interest in the essences…
